Job Summary:
Energy Recovery is seeking a qualified candidate for an immediate full-time
opening for the position of Director of Investor Relations, with the Finance
team in the Houston, TX or San Leandro, CA facility. This position is
responsible for providing support of all investor relations activities in
order to increase shareholder value, and assisting with investor relations
strategies and presentations. In addition, the candidate will be responsible
for supporting the VP of Investor Relations with earnings calls, PowerPoint
presentations, security analysts’ positions and summaries, and executive level
communication between management and the investor community. A suitable
candidate will have strong presentation and writing skills, and should be able
to collect and synthesize pertinent information from senior management.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Communicating the Company’s financial and operational performance and business outlook to current and potential investors
- Manage Company relationships with institutional investors and sell-side analysts by demonstrating consistent and clear communication between internal and external parties regarding the company’s vision and strategy for delivering shareholder value
- Analyze and present financial trends, competitor behavior, shareholder issues, and provide insights on market activity
- Advise senior management as to industry sentiment and conditions as well as the expected reaction from the investment community regarding proposed transactions, corporate planning/budgeting and operating results
- Identify investors who are underweight Academy’s stock/securities and develop a strategy to target those investors
- Responsible for creating and delivering investor relations materials, including earnings releases, presentations and scripts, , etc. for investor conferences and investor roadshows
- Schedule, arrange and participate with senior management in industry and research analyst conferences with investors and security analysts, conference calls with members of the financial community and roadshows to meet with targeted investors
- Analyze reports prepared by the investment community concerning Energy Recovery and comparable companies
- Initiate discussions with sell-side analysts to understand their points of view and demonstrate the confidence to confirm or challenge those viewpoints
- Anticipate and address investor and analyst issues. Build relationships, respond in a timely manner to analysts’ questions, and gain better understanding of top investors’ behaviors
- All other projects and duties as assigned
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of GAAP, accounting, and financial principles
- MBA Preferred
- Ability to aid in developing presentations and in the logistics of NDRs
- Familiarity with the impact MIFID II has had on small cap companies
- Strong understanding of capital markets
- Ability to communicate business strategies and complex financial information clearly and accurately to a variety of audiences through oral and written means
- Public speaking skills with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively
- Ability to weigh factors and make decisions in alignment with strategy and values
- Create and analyze financial models to determine drivers of company performance relative to analyst and investor models and to effectively position the Company among its competitors
- Ability to develop and articulate compelling company stories/messaging towards investors and external stakeholders
- Must be able to help identify potential shareholders with targeted characteristics
- Attention to details and the highest standards for accuracy and precision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.
- Prior experience with financial databases (Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet or other), and investor CRMs (IPREO/Big Dough, other) a plus
- Ability to work independently, self-motivated
- Knowledge of ESG a plus
