Exploding Kittens is seeking an experienced Director of eCommerce to join our Commercial Sales team. In this role you will manage our eCommerce DTC including ExplodingKittens.com and our third party ecommerce business including Amazon.com, Target.com and Walmart.com. You’ll play a key role in the growth of our business including reviewing and confirming our DTC strategy including DTC product, performance marketing and the vision for site features and functionality that will distinguish Exploding Kittens from our competitors and create a differentiated destination for both new and existing customers. Successful candidates have deep performance marketing experience supporting owned DTC businesses with equal strengths at managing 3rd party marketplaces. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with performance marketing including search, SEO, display, social, affiliates, email and emerging marketing channels as well as on platform marketing and merchandising. Managing a team of direct reports and vendors, you’ll partner with the executive team on meeting objectives for 2022 and then implementing our three year strategy.

You’ll partner with our NA sales team on Walmart and Target accounts, ensuring that you are marketing and merchandising on their respective platforms to maximize overall omni-channel business success. You’ll direct key vendor relationships including marketing and vendor agencies. You’ll partner across our teams including Product Development (i.e. Physical Games, Toys, etc) and our Brand Marketing team to ensure marketing plans and tactics are integrated into the broader calendar and support our business strategy. Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, the Director of ecommerce can be located nationally with a preference for Los Angeles, CA.

HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Expand and diversify Exploding Kittens’ eCommerce DTC business by outstanding marketing, site merchandising and user experience
  • Grow ecommerce SKU via partnership with Game Development Team to understand how to maximize and grow this channel profitability
  • Develop and manage overall Amazon business strategy deploying plans to maximize revenue and contribution margin of channel to deliver against aggressive targets
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic and tactical business plans with other members of the cross functional team supporting the eCommerce strategy including Game Development, Brand Marketing, Logistics and IT teams
  • Manage the user experience and feature prioritization of the ExplodingKittens.com Shopify site including site navigation, content development, checkout funnel and promotional campaigns
  • Ensuring 3rd party item set up is correct and optimized for conversion rate, inclusive of Enhanced Brand Content creation and product descriptions & imagery
  • Determine marketing programs within Amazon ecosystem to drive growth
  • Partner with marketing teams to ensure brand and product information is optimized for Amazon selling
  • Manage and continually improve our internal and external processes to support Amazon
  • Implement best practices to continually improve the Amazon business / channel
  • Partner with the brand marketing team members on SEO on 3rd party and ExplodingKittens.com
  • Deep knowledge of Performance marketing including Search and Display, Social, Retargeting, SEO, Affiliate Marketing and Email Marketing Working experience with Google Analytics to ensure team members and vendor partners are leveraging for analytics and insights
  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing Team in developing and executing digital brand and content marketing strategies

WHAT WE NEED:

  • 10+ years’ experience leading/directing an owned e-Commerce and performance marketing function with a minimum of $50M revenue
  • 7+ years extensive experience working directly on Amazon as well as with other retailers’ platforms (e.g. Walmart.com, Target.com) with a deep understanding of on platform marketing and merchandising best practices to drive conversion rate
  • Proven track record of developing long term strategy, planning and executing towards business KPIs successfully Strategic in nature, but also possess the ability and willingness to roll up your sleeves and work alongside the team to accomplish goals, teach and mentor junior colleagues and delivery business results
  • Demonstrated strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives
  • Outstanding leadership skills to both the direct reports and larger business
  • Ability to work in the following states: CA, AZ, IL, MI, MO, NY, PA, TX, WA
