The Director of Logistics is responsible for all Logistics, Distribution, and Warehousing activities, managing end-to-end operations within Exploding Kittens’ supply chain. In this role you will work internally and cross- functionally with leadership, production, sales, and warehousing teams to optimize the company’s supply chain to ensure customers receive their orders on time, while maintaining a high level of performance on KPIs to align with the company’s growth goals.

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Drive strategic operations of the Distribution and Logistics team including identifying, revising, and championing departmental goals and objectives, to align with the company’s short and long-term goals
  • Identify current and future risks and potential challenges to growth and create and implement a plan to mitigate identified risks
  • Maintain KPIs / metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Maintain, create, and nurture strong relationships with shippers, brokers, 3PLs, and freight forwarders that allow the company to consistently meet delivery deadlines in a cost-effective manner by effectively negotiating contracts or rates
  • Collaborate across departments to improve controls that impact inventory or shipment reporting including refining processes, policies, procedures, documentation, and information systems
  • Oversee inventory management to ensure data accuracy across all 3rd party partners’ locations.
  • Manage the logistics budget, constantly looking for solutions to optimize the shipping processes, and keeping the budget at or below forecast.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor Logistics team members to ensure operations flow smoothly, instructions are provided accordingly, and the team is set up for success

WHAT WE NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management (or related field), Master’s degree highly desirable
  • Active APICS Certification
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus in logistics and procurement; Director of Distribution and Logistics & Supply Chain experience preferred
  • Expertise in warehouse procedures in efficiency, effectiveness and safety
  • Understanding of global customs, import requirements, rules and regulations
  • Ability to develop, articulate, and enact a clear vision of what the Company needs to meet its long-term business objectives
  • Ability to manage complex schedules, handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to understand and leverage technology to build scalable processes, gain efficiencies, streamline operations, and improve outcomes
  • Excellent change management skills, with the ability to influence peer stakeholders
  • Exceptional analytics and organizational skills and a flexible, problem-solving attitude
  • Ability for occasional domestic travel
