The Exploding Kittens Marketing team is looking for an experienced Email
Marketing Manager who can lead all aspects of performance marketing for EK’s
eCommerce/DTC site. As a member of our high-performing and fun team, you’ll
drive sales through new customer acquisitions---identifying growth
opportunities throughout the consumer lifecycle. This role reports directly to
the VP of Marketing.
HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE
- Develop and execute on the email marketing roadmap, and acquisition, winback, and retention strategies that support our DTC/eCommerce and Retail objectives
- Review the competitive landscape and implement best practices for email marketing
- Generate website traffic, revenue, and loyalty via segmentation, game launches, special promotions/offers, and content
- Construct forecasts and goals for email programs and be accountable for achieving these objectives and goals
- Report regularly on email campaign results and KPIs, highlighting successes, insights, trends, and opportunities
- Drive email strategy with content, relevancy, smart segmentation, and personalization
- Use data to continuously test, measure, and optimize campaign performance
- Proactively drive the email calendar from past campaign learnings and best practices; develop strategies to meet engagement goals for email campaigns
- Develop creative, including writing creative briefs, and collaborate with the Creative team and eCommerce team
- Ensure creative reflects previous learnings, incorporates best practices, and fits with our brand tone, style, and essence
- Manage daily operations of the email marketing channel – marketing calendar, promotional planning, creative design approvals, execution and deployment of email campaigns, measurement and analytics
- Report on performance for email marketing on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis and measure against agreed upon KPI’s
- Manage list segmentation and A/B testing to improve the performance and efficiency of email marketing
- Manage against acquisition goals and test new tactics to increase our active email subscribers
- Work cross-functionally with different stakeholders in the organization for creative and content feedback and approvals
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness of email marketing programs or processes from in-depth knowledge of campaign management and email execution tools
- Maintain a pulse on industry trends and best practices, technologies, competitive landscape, and apply those findings
WHAT WE NEED
- Bachelors degree in journalism, business, marketing, or a related field
- 3 plus years experience in email marketing with a heavy focus on analytics, KPI tracking, customer acquisition, lifecycle, and targeting
- Impeccable attention to detail with strong creative, and written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of Klaviyo, Google Analytics, Shopify Plus, and automation tools
- Ability to manage the creation and segmentation of contact lists and present proposals for new campaignsExperience with A/B test strategies and implementation
- Copywriting and copyediting skills are a plus
- Knowledge of email best practices and reputation management
- Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Basic Photoshop skills - cropping, resizing, using layers for basic compositing
- Exceptional time management and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
