**Role Purpose: **

Fanatics is seeking an ambitious and experienced Business Development Strategy and Planning Analyst to join our Business Affairs & Development team. This role will be reporting to the Director of Business Development Strategy and Planning. The Analyst's focus will be modelling and margin protection, identifying optimal revenue models, sales/ distribution channels, pricing and new product development strategies as well as supporting Director and Managers in developing these strategies and plans.

Additional areas of focus will be to support the Fanatics strategic planning process as the company looks to expands its domestic and global presence, to own the financial modelling process to best advise and influence strategic decision making as well as evaluate industry trends, consider long-term implications and drive pragmatic strategies for new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial analysis of new opportunities as well as deal modelling, partner liaison, market research, business tenders and deal negotiation.
  • Financial analysis and modelling for all new and existing business deals including sensitivity and long-term deal analysis.
  • Assisting the Business Development team in the targeting and development of new business prospects.
  • Input into pitch presentations and supporting documentation for new business projects.
  • Market research across the sports industry for targeted sectors/territories/partners/competitors.
  • Interpretation, management and analysis of information and data relevant to business development projects.
  • Working with all internal functional areas of the business globally to develop and communicate a wide understanding of the Fanatics business.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong internal and external (partner) relationships.
  • Ensure financial models accurately capture latest internal costing data and support effective transition & integration of activities from the deal team to the various business stakeholders.
  • Suggest commercial structures for deals based on market knowledge, Fanatics’ internal levers, and sporting context.
  • Own the end-to-end due diligence process
  • Benchmark internal metrics against external market to identify M&A targets to expand & improve Fanatics’ capabilities.
  • Challenge status-quo and ways of working to improve operational efficiencies i.e. internal margins.
  • Compilation, review & dissemination of internal financial and operational data.
  • Target research to identify opportunities.
  • Compilation and review of financial and operational information from all aspects of the business
  • Support in the creation of new ideas and services and support the scaling of these new platforms to clients within the International territory.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

  • Financial background - commercial finance or strategic planning experience preferred.
  • Experienced in Internal Consultancy & Business Process roles at previous employer.
  • A “can-do” positive attitude and ability to cope with conflicting demands and an “every day is different” role.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and present large volumes of raw data (both internal & external data) in a meaningful way.
  • A hands-on approach to problem-solving, identifying issues and using initiative to identify and implement solutions.
  • Advanced knowledge of full MS Office suite, particularly Excel including: VBA/Macros, Pivot Tables, Arrays, IndexMatch, and template design.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven history of innovative thinking & project delivery around bottom line business improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, including to external parties.
  • Detailed understanding of the Business Development cycle from prospecting through to deal closing.
  • Flexible approach to workload and opportunities.
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to handle competing priorities and requests, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
