The Director of Technology is responsible for the development, planning and implementation of strategic corporate functions such as Infrastructure, Operations and Financial Systems required to scale our business. The incumbent will analyze the needs of the organization and match solutions that consider size, implementation, integration, functionality, and budget. This role will be responsible for contributing to strategy and planning, acquisition and development, and operational management on short and long-term strategies.

What you'll be doing

  • Create outline of current state of the business in partnership with engineering with an analysis that highlights problems, risk, opportunities, and solutions with prioritization of functional requirements.
  • Responsible for establishing an infrastructure and operations strategy
  • Responsible for managing partners and business processes built on Oracle ERP
  • Closely monitor and improve process inefficiencies, failures, errors, or issues and recommend business solutions to correct and drive efficiency.
  • Incorporate new technology solutions after performing cost-benefit analyses and evaluating relevant data points and possible automated enhancements.
  • Responsible for all level escalations coming from the vendor or employees impacting operational system and the customer until resolution
  • Partner with management and leadership to identify needs and resolve issues. This includes researching the background of issue(s), identifying root causes, quantifying the scope and scale of issue(s), identifying possible solutions, making recommendations, and executing the solution.
  • Act as an internal technology consultant in providing effective IT solutions that leverage new technology.
  • Lead and manage successful implementations of IT-based, cross-functional projects, providing clarity for success measures, milestones, and transparent progress reporting, identifying, and elevating risks, resolving roadblocks with a bias for what is best for the business, and fostering joint accountability with business partners for successful outcomes.
  • Provide cost benefit and fit for purpose analysis of in-house development vs commercially available applications.
  • Conduct research an emerging technology, industry trends and cost-effective strategies to support competitive market offering to our customers and reporting and analytics.
  • Negotiate and administer vendor and consultant contract and service agreements.
  • Conduct regular compliance checks and test operating systems. Document findings with case scenarios, workflow diagrams, and data models.
  • Manage, train, and develop both the IT and Technology department to inspire growth and innovative solutions.

What we're looking for

  • Prior experience support large scale ERP platforms such ad Dynamics, SAP or Oracle preferred.
  • Working knowledge of application architecture, database and network technologies required.
  • A strong business acumen and ability to maintain budgetary control.
  • Proven and demonstrated leadership, communication, organization, and effective management of technology projects.
  • Good change management and leadership skills.
  • 5-7 years’ experience working with IT operations and business processes.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of computer systems, security, network, and systems administration .
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Rigorous attention to detail and highly organized, but able to operate with ease at all levels (from strategy to execution).
  • Deep empathy for customer experience – always analyzing and assessing from the customers’ viewpoint.
  • Authentic people leader who invests in nurturing potential, as well as proven talent. Conscious and supportive of diversity & inclusion, and the value they bring to customers, business and the team.

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, accounting/finance coursework, computer engineering, or related field of study preferred
