Role Purpose

We are looking for a Finance Manager to take responsibility for the monthly reporting process of P&L and Balance Sheet for trading entities and holding companies, in addition to our external statutory reporting. Provide technical financial advice to the function, and support the management accounts team to deliver accurate financial information adhering with all compliance standards. The role will also Business Partner with the overhead functions supporting the budgeting and forecasting process and ensuring strong cost control and governance.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the leadership, management and development of team of 4 qualified and part-qualified accountants.
  • Lead and manage the month end reporting process to ensure effective, efficient and accurate completion of all month end account processes in line with US parent timelines.
  • Responsible for the successful completion of group and statutory audits and will manage the team in the preparation and on time submission of the statutory accounts for UK and International entities.
  • Business partner to all overhead functions – taking responsibility an ownership of the delivery of accurate budget and forecasting, and ongoing cost control and governance whilst supporting the challenges for a rapidly growing business.
  • Own the financial end to end process for key strategic partners
  • Ensure robust controls and procedures are in place for all management accounts processes and system interfaces
  • Ensure on time and accurate completion of balance sheet reconciliations for group reporting purposes
  • Consistently look for ways to improve the financial control framework and implement an effective testing platform to effectively manage risk and compliance.
  • Identification and analysis of trends, risks, opportunities and sensitivities, making associated recommendations.
  • Ensuring the E2E process and controls are documented and reviewed periodically for all key activities within the team.
  • Challenge and review the processes making sure the team understand the processes and risks. Review adequacy of controls and recommend improvements.
  • Advise on system/process improvement and project change management.
  • Identify training and development needs of direct reports and work with them ensure these are met.
  • Support and deputise for the Financial Controller where required
  • Implement and share best practice across the management accounts function.
  • Provide key support during implementation of system improvements
  • Keep up to date with relevant changes in accounting regulations and implement changes where appropriate

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

  • Fully Qualified CIMA or equivalent (ACA, ACCA) with 3-5 years post qualification experience.
  • Experienced People Manager and Team leadership skills
  • Ideally experience of working with, or in US listed or PE backed businesses with other international entities
  • High impact and influence skills for stakeholder management across the finance function/wider company.
  • In-depth understanding of processes and reporting.
  • Experience of working in a fast paced environment, with the ability to hit tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and track record of business partnering
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time to meet deadlines
  • Ability to liaise with staff at all levels, and manage external advisors where relevant
  • Maintain integrity of financial records via strong controls
  • Strong excel skills, experience of Microsoft Dynamics d365 would be a benefit, but not essential
