Position Summary

Sets up and operates automated button capping machine to ensure top quality and 100% utilization.

Essential Job Functions

• Change both lower and upper die sets.

• Change, align, and lift Thiele feeders.

• Program computers for size of button, number in a bag, and quantity of bags.

• Understand and maintain auto bagger functions.

• Unload and replenish all parts hoppers and Thiele feeders.

• Change and adjust feeder track for each button size.

• Packages product (i.e buttons)

• Remove bags, inspect and package.

• Record run times, down times, maintenance times, and units produced.

• Maintain measurement sheets for dies.

• Responsible for optimum machine output.

• Removes and changes blanking dies on machine number three.

• Perform housekeeping tasks of cleaning machine and general area.

• Ensure all safety devices are operational before operating equipment.

• Performs preventative tasks as needed.

• Assists with training additional operators as directed.

• Wear proper PPE at all times.

• Use FMS system to help schedule orders.

• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required

Education

• High school graduate or its equivalent.

Knowledge

• Six months related experience.

• Knowledge of mechanical processes.

• Basic knowledge of hand tools.

Skills

• High degree of comprehension, troubleshooting skills, and problem resolution.

• Strong mechanical skills.

• Intermediate computer skills.

Abilities

• Ability to read shop packets and inspect material and finished products for defects.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50lbs

• Ability to stand for entire shift

• Comfortable using a ladder

• Able to turn and bend

• Forklift experience a plus
