Summary:
This position serves as a data management and reporting analyst providing reporting and information support to the Operations organization, as well as other organizations that interact with Operations. The primary role of this position is to research system capabilities, collaborate with cross functional teams to understand what information is needed, and work with various teams to design, build, test, and deploy tools and reports necessary to gather information, enhance service levels, and drive consistent reporting to the Operations stakeholders. The scope of the role will require a broad understanding of the business as well as the technical architecture of the various systems to drive an understanding of the data structure supporting the sales order (demand) and the purchase order and inventory (supply) and the various systems that support each. The individual will not only be tasked with creating requested information, but with developing an understanding of the broader issues facing the business and working to develop tools and processes to enhance the Operations procedures and the organizational service levels. The position will be a key player and visible within and outside of the Operations team in areas such as collaboration in report development, review of findings with cross functional teams, and providing demonstrations of new tools. The candidate will be a driver in the creation of data and reports using the internal ERP (FMS) and BI tools (MS and FCP) to research, build, test, and deliver new reporting tools. The candidate will be a key driver in the continued enhancement of tools needed to drive Order Fulfillment reporting and cross functional insight to the status of the order book and customer deliveries, as well as reporting and analytical support for weekly and monthly reporting for S&OP, Compass, Turn Time, Order Fulfillment, Hot Market, and other internal support needs.
Responsibilities:
•Serve as a subject matter expert in the data structure and system methodology of existing ERP system and BI tools. Learn the ‘ins and outs’ of where the data lives, how it is structured, and use that knowledge to drive the creation of new reporting tools.
•Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand the business process within and outside of the Operations and use that business insight to brainstorm and identify reporting and process improvement needs.
•Manage a work queue of projects and requests from internal users (primarily Operations team) to prioritize and drive the building and maintaining of new and existing reporting tools
•Own the architecture and maintenance of existing reporting tools, enhance the tools, and build out new tools and reports as needed.
•Understand the business needs within the workflow (order flow, work order flow, purchase order flow, contract production, external distribution) to develop ways to gather and report information necessary to improve our communication, service levels, turn time, and on time performance execution.
•Collaborate with users to understand their business ‘pain points’ and generate ideas for how best to serve their needs, with information or recommended process improvements. Educate the users of the information they need, and work to develop
•Participate with Operations and cross-functional teams to identify information and reporting needs, and utilize system expertise to design, create, and deploy new and enhanced reporting tools as needed (including new system initiatives, process improvement initiatives, etc.)
•Participate in other Operations and cross-functional process improvement initiatives, including visible roles across organizations, representing Operations, including Retail Services, Sourcing, Third Party Manufacturing, Distribution, Internal Manufacturing, Tech/Process Improvement.
•Other Analysis and Special Projects as Needed
Requirements:
•4 Year College or relevant work experience
•Experience using BI tools with query and report building experience is a must. SQL experience or working understanding of how programming query language is a plus
•Strong experience in drilling into large datasets, utilizing Excel pivot tables, Access, or other similar reporting tools to sort, filter, and create user and Executive level reporting
•Strong Excel and skills with advanced pivot table and formula functions such as VLookup and other moderately advanced Excel skills is required. Power Point and other MS Office is a plus.
•Good communication and listening skills, the ability to understand user information needs, translate them into reporting, and present the finished product (primarily internal Ops team)
•Demonstrated ability to present and communicate complicated issues to a user (non-tech) audience, building reporting tools to distill complex information into executive level information. Capable of operating “in the weeds” or “at 30,000 feet”.
•Comfortable working with members of other departments, or partners from outside of the organization to brainstorm, collaborate, and influence decisions in how tools will develop and deploy.
•Strong attention to detail, and the ability manage multiple priorities and communicate status.
