Fanatics is looking for a Lead Platform or Full-stack. We are looking for a seasoned technical leader to lead and grow our Platform team at Fanatics. The platform team is responsible for building and managing common, platform components such as Observability and Application platforms etc that can be used by other teams in the company.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of building scalable and performant platforms. Engineer to develop and maintain platforms & frameworks that are highly reliable, scalable, and serve as the backbone for Fanatics.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead design, develop, test, and deploy platform components
  • A person who mentors other engineers in the team and around the company.
  • Deliver secure, reliable, and high-performance infrastructure and APIs
  • Work with our infrastructure engineering team to minimize the operational overhead of production systems you deploy
  • Come up with new ideas to streamline existing architecture and provide newer capabilities
  • Work with partner engineering to see how new features on these big data platforms can ease their pain points and improve their productivity
  • Good understanding of Java, Go, and Python
  • Experience with platforms like Kafka, Apache Pulsar, Druid, ElasticSearch is a big plus
  • In-depth knowledge of OOP

What You Will Do:

  • Own the technical roadmap for evolving the data platform to support the future needs of the business
  • Provide thought leadership and mentoring to the data engineering team on how data should be stored and processed more efficiently and quickly at scale
  • Partner closely with Engineering and various business teams to deliver all required functionality and feature sets on time
  • Work with data engineers to create services that can ingest and supply data to and from external sources
  • Define the processes needed to achieve operational excellence and platform reliability.

  • 9+ years of software development experience with at least 6+ years of experience leading engineering teams
