We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help build out the Customer Accounts and Transactions (CAT) team. This role reports to the Senior Software Engineering Manager responsible for the CAT Eligibility and Fraud teams. The role is responsible for architecting, designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining the software to provide Fanatics Betting and Gaming the capability to determine eligible customer accounts and fraudulent customer accounts. Prior experience with location compliance software, anti-fraud software, and anti-money laundering software is a plus. The Staff Software Engineer will be an expert technologist with experience in highly scalable, highly available backend server software.
Duties and responsibilities may include:
Develop a strong understanding of Fanatics Betting and Gaming.
Become the technical leader, mentor, and role model for the CAT Eligibility and Fraud software team.
Architect, design, develop, and implement a highly available, highly scalable solution to determine customer eligibility and track the likelihood of a user being fraudulent.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, inside and outside of Engineering, and collaborate with leaders to define and deliver the correct product.
Help the development team define and adhere to the principles, guidelines, and best practices of the engineering strategy.
Remain current on technology and trends in engineering.
What skills are important to us:
Strong technical skills, both functional and non-functional, in a continuous delivery environment.
Demonstrated ability to partner closely with product management, other engineering teams, and the quality team to deliver the correct product.
Experience architecting, designing, and implementing large and complex software products.
Experience defining server APIs to support mobile and web products and using modern tech stack (Java micro services, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Rancher, AWS Cloud)
Excellent influencing and problem resolution skills.
Global experience preferred.
Positive and flexible attitude to work in a fast-paced environment and a willingness to embrace new initiatives.
Prior experience with location compliance systems is a plus.
Prior experience with anti-fraud, anti-money-laundering systems is a plus.
