The mission of Traceability Pillar of Fanatics’ Sustainability team is to create the visibility and trust with upstream supply chain partners to implement programs supporting fair labor practices and environmental sustainability. We also strive to meet or exceed external stakeholder expectations for transparency and accountability. The Traceability Manager will drive the operationalization of traceability strategy related to upstream manufacturing supply chains, with a focus on the Eastern Hemisphere. This will include engaging with upstream suppliers to assess risks associated with raw materials, implementing programs to build supplier capacity to address labor and environmental risks, and supporting Fanatics’ transition to more sustainable materials. The Manager will report to the Sustainability Sr. Manager, Traceability. The position will be based in Bangkok, Thailand.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine internal procedures, supplier guidelines, tools, and training to scale implementation of pilot programs, in partnership with Sourcing and Materials teams
  • Monitor and continuously improve traceability processes to ensure they are implemented consistently and achieve program goals, in collaboration with global, cross-functional teams
  • Manage implementation of upstream traceability programs across new segments of the source base and newly acquired business divisions
  • Adapt processes to support migration of traceability workflows into technical platform and communicate data management and analysis requirements to internal and third-party tech teams
  • Monitor upstream supply chain risks in Eastern Hemisphere, staying abreast of industry news and regulatory updates to assess impacts to traceability policy, processes, or programs
  • Engage with suppliers and Materials teams to collect and evaluate documentation on chain of custody
  • Contribute to public reporting on Fanatics’ supply chain data and traceability efforts
  • Engage with regional sustainability managers and analyze supply chain data to understand region-specific risks and localize traceability programs
  • Research industry partnerships and certifications related to raw material labor risks and product sustainability to inform regional program strategies

Requirements

  • A passion and commitment to sustainable business practices
  • 5+ years-experience in sustainability, social compliance, or apparel or agricultural product development/sourcing, such as experience within a brand or retailer, multi-stakeholder organization, or consulting service provider
  • A proven track record of effective upstream supply chain stakeholder engagement and collaboration, including building trust with geographically diverse supply chain partners
  • Knowledge or experience related to sourcing chain-of-custody documentation (e.g., cotton, recycled polyester) or conflict minerals reporting
  • Experience with supply chain data management platforms and analysis of supply chain data to provide actionable insights
  • Professional working proficiency in English plus proficiency in at least one additional language skills (e.g., Thai, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Bengali)
  • Strong judgment, resourcefulness, and capacity to deal with ambiguity by engaging stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of and experience with industry best practices in developing and scaling social compliance requirements in manufacturing supply chains, including regional/global organizations and certifications supporting fair labor practices or product sustainability
  • Knowledge of global industry trends related to corporate environmental and social responsibility
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Experience working with a global team and/or strong cross-cultural communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to undertake diverse projects
  • Ability to travel when needed
