About the Role

Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Food Innovation is a key executive team leader responsible for creating, curating and stocking the Good Eggs marketplace with the West’s best peak-quality, high-integrity groceries and complete meal solutions. This role will successfully lead multiple talented teams, including category management, purchasing and replenishment, food experience partnerships and culinary innovation.

Our ideal candidate has a passion for food innovation and is a grocery thought leader who can scale exceptional food & innovation across the West Coast, while improving customer-centric growth year over year.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Create a pioneering long term strategic food vision that lifts our producers, delights our customers, differentiates us from our competitors and supports our mission
• Lead category management, purchasing, food innovation and pricing across all categories
• Champion site merchandising that pulls in customers and highlights and positions our diversified food offerings
• Recruit, retain, coach and inspire a diverse, highly engaged team, while being a strong cultural steward
• Be a value creator and drive positive change, raise the bar on value thinking resulting in increased sales and financial results
• Champion high-integrity food, as well as the Producers who make it
• Drive customer centric growth via our food assortment and food partnerships
• Be a strong cross departmental collaborator, resulting in fast implementation of food innovation initiatives

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience and deep understanding of the grocery industry, including buying, category management, growing profitable sales, margin, pricing, and merchandising
• Proven impact as a food innovator, who will be our food champion and beacon for the company
• Strong team leader who has led multi-dimensional teams in new food spaces. Can share the vision, get strong alignment and celebrate the sales and profitability wins
• Full P&L accountability and proven financial results leadership
• Experience implementing private label initiatives is a strong plus
• Results driven, empathetic leader
