Job Description

We are looking for a driven and creative designer to join our team. You will be responsible for creating and designing web elements for our sophisticated SaaS platform. You will work with UX Designers, Product Managers, and the Engineering team to translate high-level requirements into beautiful, functional user interfaces.

This is a team member position, working in Pittsburgh, PA

Responsibilities

• Produce meticulous, beautiful user interface designs
• Collaborate with UX designers, product management and front-end developers to define and implement innovative solutions for platform direction, visuals and experience
• Design high-fidelity style tiles, page compositions, and digital style guides to final engineering hand-off
• Ability to create strategically appropriate and visually delightful responsive platform designs
• Work quickly to create numerous design options to solve customer problems
• Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex design roadblocks
• Prototype complex interactions with high standards of usability in mind
• Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
• Impeccable understanding of typography, layout, color, and all other elements of design
• Work with UX designers and front-end developers to identify solutions
• Is well-versed with web technology, usability, and core development tools; understands web design constraints, including a strong understanding of designing for a CMS
• Always seeks input from the engineering and implementation teams to validate and ensure that the design vision is executable
• Demonstrated ability to solve design problems quickly with creativity and flexible thinking
• Manage the development of team members through dedicated mentorship, or less formal coaching and advice
• Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills
• Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders

Qualficiations

• Ability to work in the United States without Visa sponsorship now or in the future

Required Skills

• BS in User Interface, Design, Graphic Design, or related field with a demonstrable portfolio
• 5+ years of design experience
• Previous experience leading teams Sketch, Figma and/or similar tools
• Experience leveraging libraries to quickly create beautiful and functional designs
• Experience designing desktop platform interfaces
• Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
• Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
• Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
• Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
• Ability to reliably deliver detailed UI designs using our existing Sketch libraries and guidelines, against tight deadlines on multiple parallel projects

Desired Skills

• MS in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or related field
• Experience in designing an interactive big data-driven application
• Experience working in an agile/scrum development process
• Experience in or exposure to the nuances of a startup or other entrepreneurial environment
