Here’s what that would mean for you in the Director, Revenue Accounting role.

Caring

  • You’ll contribute to our vision and mission by shaping, building, and managing the accounting and financial reporting function of the company. You’ll be a key player on our growing finance team to support the rapidly growing company as business scales.

Ownership

  • You’ll own day to day revenue accounting operations, from sales contract review, application of ASC 606 under US GAAP and company policy, to monthly close and reporting.
  • You’ll partner with finance and non-finance teams to ensure revenue forecasts are complete, accurate, and well-informed.
  • You’ll seek opportunities to implement process improvements with a focus on scale and growth.
  • You’ll manage and coach a small team of accounting professionals.
  • You’ll play a lead role in the annual financial statement audit as well as periodic reporting to investors and have involvement in ad hoc projects as needed.
  • You’ll report to the Senior Director - Corporate Controller in the Finance Department within the General & Administrative Division.

  • You’ll use your 5+ years of experience in an accounting role to:
  • Manage the deal review process with field sales and sales operations to ensure contracts adhere to Finance policy and meet revenue recognition requirements.
  • Manage and improve an existing monthly close cycle, with a specific emphasis on review of revenue contracts with customers and timely month-end close processes.
  • Utilize the existing accounting close software to monitor adherence to deadlines and make process recommendations as needed.
  • Own and understand fully the nature of revenue contracts with customers, including billing requirements or special provisions. Participate in and oversee documentation within a contract review log to ensure contract compliance.
  • Work cross-functionally with teams such as Sales Ops / Field Sales and FP&A teams to implement actions to support scale and growth.
  • Lead special projects, and additional responsibilities, as needed. Examples may include assisting with implementing a new accounting standard or internal controls requirements, the integration of an acquired company’s accounting processes or implementing IT accounting tools.

  • You demonstrate the ability to provide accurate and timely revenue to key stakeholders.
  • You will be able to partner with FP&A to explain variances between forecasted and actual revenue.
  • You manage and meet deadlines for yourself and ensure your team does as well.
  • You proactively address and/or escalate revenue impacting and related process issues, including offering suggestions for corrective actions.
  • You establish good working relationships with accounting and non-accounting teams, including sales, sales operations, FP&A, and external auditors.

Where You’ll Go From Here

  • Kyruuvians in the Director, Revenue Accounting role can assume further responsibility in the future to include deeper involvement on technical accounting matters and exposure to Board/Audit Committee level reporting. In addition, depending on the candidate and future internal movement, promotion to Corporate Controller is a possibility.
