ValidMind is a stealth-mode startup facilitating trust, transparency, and visibility around ML models for financial services institutions. The company helps clients better understand the risks in their ML models and increases the efficiency and speed of their ML model validation processes and go-to-market deployment. We recently raised a pre-seed round with the AI Fund, and are in the process of raising additional capital. We are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer to join our fully-remote engineering team.

ValidMind’s solution is a central platform for data scientists and model validators to collaborate and engage throughout the model development process to ensure ML compliance by design. ValidMind helps data scientists run tests and automatically capture documentation about ML models with a few lines of code. This information can then be reviewed in real-time on the ValidMind platform by model validators to flag potential risks and findings that need to be addressed. When the ML model is ready for production, the validation is a simple sign-off.

ValidMind is supported by the AI Fund based in Palo Alto, California. Founded by Dr. Andrew Ng, AI Fund is a startup studio focused on resolving problems to move the world forward. AI Fund builds new AI companies to bridge AI technology and critical applications.

Here is what you will do:

• Work across the stack building a highly scalable application for the validation and documentation of ML models
• Own the development of the ValidMind frontend application
• Work with our product and design team members in defining the features for our product MVP
• Architect client side UI components that manage data visualization and collaboration-heavy user interactions
• Collaborate with the backend team in implementing features for the ValidMind API and ValidMind Python SDK

Your Qualifications Include:

• 5+ years of experience building full-stack applications with JavaScript (Node.js) or Python
• 3+ years of frontend experience with React or any other modern JavaScript framework (Angular, Vue.js, Svelte, etc.), and HTML/CSS
• Experience with microservices and event driven architecture deployments
• Expert knowledge building HTTP APIs
• Experience working with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Comfortable with a fast-moving agile development environment

Nice to Haves Include:

• Experience implementing CI/CD practices across the stack
• Previous experience or high interest in data analytics or AI/ML
• Experience building SDKs or open source libraries with Python
• Experience using AWS for application deployments
