Parallel Wireless is currently seeking a Senior Digital Hardware Design Engineer with a strong background in digital design, to join our growing team. In this role, you will take digital designs for wireless cellular communications through the entire product lifecycle (starting with requirements, and culminating with a qualified hardware product in the marketplace). The successful candidate must be capable of working in a diverse development environment, with a distributed/remote hardware and software team.

What you'll do:

  • Work with Product Management and Architecture teams to identify architecture and approach to cellular product development.
  • Design, and document hardware designs to meet the requirements; including key component selection, board layout, digital design, and simulation.
  • Design and code small FPGA (primarily “glue logic”)
  • Work with Platform SW team to define software interfaces, peripheral and memory maps, and debug/integration capabilities.
  • Work with RF Hardware engineers to integrate with radio cards/subsystems.
  • Bring up/validate new hardware, and work with Platform SW engineers to validate the design for application development and perform DVT on the system.
  • Work with Compliance team to manage hardware regulatory compliance.
  • Fully support Design-for-Test (DFT) and Design-for-Manufacturing DFM) concepts and work with Operations teams to source and build prototypes, and manage a transition to production.
  • Support Systems Integration and QA test teams.
  • Perform ongoing sustaining engineering for hardware products.

What you must have:

  • Minimum 5 years of digital design experience, including high-speed digital design, SERDES interfaces, FPGA, microcontrollers, PCI interfaces.
  • Experience with FPGA simulation/programming tools (Xilinx preferred)
  • Experience with Schematic Capture Tools (Or Cad preferred)
  • Experience with digital measurement equipment (HW and SW) and using them to troubleshoot new/existing digital designs.
  • Experience interfacing to RF or radio components
  • Experience with radio SoC’s
  • Basic knowledge of RF/radio, including cellular (4G/5G) technologies.
  • Experience designing radio and mobile (vehicle products) to meet radio and mobile compliance requirements.
  • Experience in full lifecycle development of hardware components and management tools (Arena, Agile).
  • Excellent oral and written communication, skill for communication to other team-members, as well as occasional presentations to customers/partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to present technical concepts in non-technical manner to sales teams and customers.
  • Work well with minimal supervision as part of a diverse team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • US Citizen.
