Data plays a critical role in providing smart insights and empowering modern machine learning in the Presto platform. We are looking for a Lead Data Architect cum Data Modeler to build Presto’s data platform and drive key data initiatives to support Presto’s business. You will be collaborating with an energetic cross-functional team to deliver innovative data-driven experiences to Presto customers.

Responsibilities:

• Develops & implements an overall organizational data strategy that is in line with business processes. The strategy includes data model designs, database development standards, implementation, and management of data warehouses and data analytics systems.
• Analyzes and translates business needs into long-term solution data models.
• Evaluates existing data systems.
• Works with the development team to create conceptual, logical, and physical data models and data flows.
• Works fluently with data modeling tools - e.g., ErWin.
• Manages meta data for data models.
• Evaluates implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency.
• Coordinates and collaborates with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors for the smooth functioning of the enterprise data system.
• Integrates technical functionality, data accessibility, accuracy, policy, and security.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver a great data-driven product experience for Presto customers.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills in ideating, prototyping, and providing thought leadership.

Requirements:

• 10+ years overall industry experience in software development
• 6+ years of experience with large-scale data infrastructure
• Hand on knowledge with modern cloud-based data technologies/stack such as Spark, Airflow, Kinesis, Redshift, Snowflake, Docker, BigQuery, etc.
• Experience in AWS data technologies (EC2, S3, Glue, Lambda, Spectrum) is a plus.
• Proven track record of building large-scale production data infrastructure.
• A self-starter - Collaborates closely with other team members to drive projects from initiation to completion with minimal guidance.
• Define and manage SLAs for all data sets and processes running in production.
