The ideal candidate will build and lead our public company ready Accounting function. This involves building and coaching a team, accelerating month end closes, have experience and business acumen to reverse inefficiencies, optimize organizational controls, provide technical guidance, and be the voice of authority with auditors to drive timely audit reviews and filings. You are the glue for the accounting team and your communication & coaching skills will keep the team focused and on track to meet deadlines.

Core Responsibilities Include:
     Build, lead, coach and mentor the Accounting team
     Manage timely preparation of financial statements with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), including preparation of all supporting documentation in accordance with various reporting & filing deadlines
     Automate and reduce the month end process to a 5 day close
     Implement playbook with documented processes on accounting matters involving 606, equity accounting, and inventory reconciliation
     Apply complex accounting standards for technical and unusual transactions
     Put in place a SOX and internal controls framework; document a risk matrix with controls and segregation of duties
     Complete a systems upgrade with inventory and related modules
     Remediate and mitigate deficiencies around account analyses & reconciliations and recordkeeping
     Analyze and report flux on actual versus budget
     Lead accounting team in financial reporting, acquisition and disposition of assets, tax compliance, and treasury
     Responsible for maintaining compliance with required financial policies and procedures
     Responsible for tax planning
     Responsible for day-to-day cash management functions
     Ensure company compliance with various loan covenants
     Facilitate the completion of annual audits and tax returns while serving as lead liaison to external auditors and tax consultants
     Have gravitas and experience to drive critical audit decisions and push back on auditors as needed
     Participate in strategic and long term planning
     Work with CFO and complete special projects as required

You Bring:
     The ideal background will have 15 plus years of experience with increasing responsibility, with at least 10 years of experience as VP / Head of Accounting
     Experience with public accounting and public company controls/ compliance and audit / ICFR requirements
     Advanced accounting degree and CPA preferred
     Technical Accounting experience required
     Superior management, leadership and development skills with proven ability in building and coaching a team
     Hands-on audit experience, including working in the trenches and at the senior level with audit partners
     Experience presenting to and interacting with a Board Audit Committee
     Proficiency with NetSuite highly preferred
     Excellent oral and written communication skills
     Excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills required
     Ability to think strategically and analyze data
     Proven “hands on” ability to dive in as needed and actively manage
     IPO/Start-up Experience highly desired
     ASC 606 Experience required
     Comfortable with face to face communications with the executive team and the board
