We are seeking a Financial Data Analytics Manager to join Prosper’s Finance team. As a Financial Data Analytics Manager, you will work with the Finance team and a variety of other teams (Business Intelligence, Engineering, Data Science, Operations, etc.) to understand and record the Loan Accounting and Cash Transactions for the Company. The ideal candidate would have significant SQL experience. This candidate will extract and work on essential data to help record Loan Accounting entries, automate transactions and reports, and help solve cash, loan and credit card discrepancies and solve the findings. This role reports to the Senior Director, Controller. Ideally, the successful candidate is curious, driven, and wants to be part of a creative and innovative culture in fintech.

Problems you will solve

  • Managing and implementing an analytic framework to ensure daily reconciliation between source system data and cash accounts
  • Aiding in monthly forecasting of Revenue and other variable costs
  • Support the preparation of internal/external data communications, including monthly reforecasts and board decks
  • Building a deep understanding of the relationship between loan transactions, cash flows, and financial reporting implications throughout the loan lifecycle from loan origination through payoff and / or account closure
  • Monitoring the status and health of the borrower and investor funnel calling out any downstream implications to the financials or other operating plans
  • Automating repetitive tasks within Treasury and Accounting to alleviate month-end workload, improve accuracy of reporting, and strengthen internal controls
  • Providing financial data to the Accounting team or auditors either on an ad hoc basis or by creating Data Warehouse tables to persist relevant financial reporting information
  • Supporting the Accounting team on month end close, SEC reporting and audits
  • Working with internal groups, including Business Intelligence, Business Operations, Product Management, throughout the product release cycle to ensure that financial reporting needs are addressed throughout the ideation, business requirements, product requirements, implementation, user testing, release and post-production validation phases
  • Working with business partners, including Operations and Product Management teams, to research and resolve discrepancies identified
  • Researching reconciliation issues to identify root causes and partner with Product Management team to design and build permanent fixes
  • Identifying operational gaps in processes or controls and design steps to improve or mitigate issues, and building user tools to remediate issues in the short-term and prototypes which can be further developed into production
  • Performing ad hoc analysis, insight requests and data extractions to resolve business issues

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Finance preferred
  • Loan Accounting experience and strong problem-solving skills is required
  • Advanced SQL Experience required (preferably cloud i.e., BigQuery, RedShift)
  • 3 years’ experience business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Mode, etc)
  • Python or object oriented programming language (R, java) a plus
  • Understand of cash / treasury management and using data structures for reporting and analytics
  • Financial services background preferred
