As a member of the metrology team, you will help us design and build advanced measurement systems and analysis methods to predict battery and component performance. Come join us in a role that sits at the intersection of materials, manufacturing, machine vision, and data science!

What you will do:

Design, develop, and apply new metrology techniques to address challenging measurement requirements in our manufacturing process.

Develop data analysis tools (machine learning, signal processing, image processing) for new and existing metrology techniques.

Actively collaborate with multiple internal teams to understand and keep up with target quality specifications in continually evolving manufacturing processes, and help to develop target metrics with our measurement tools.

Explore external resources to fill gaps in our metrology toolkit.

Work with a creative mindset and continually seek to innovate on characterization techniques for metrology.

Required Qualifications:

M.S. in materials science, chemical engineering, chemistry, optics, applied physics, or a related engineering field; alternatively B.S and 2+ years experience.

Experience with characterization, measurement, or imaging systems, including data collection and data analysis.

Experience in processing and analyzing data using Python.

Any of the following is helpful, but not required:

Experience collecting and analyzing data for materials characterization in an academic research or industrial setting.

Experience in developing imaging or characterization tools, including hardware and mechanical design.

Experience with machine vision software (image processing, signal processing, camera control) or hardware (optical, acoustic, or thermal sensors).

Familiarity with measurement systems analysis, statistical process control, and design of experiments.
