Do you want to learn about and work on this critical part of the future energy economy? As part of our Cell Development team, you will work alongside scientists and engineers to refine and scale the production of next-generation batteries for electric vehicles.
Role
QuantumScape is seeking a highly motivated and experienced failure analysis engineer. You will develop new test methods and characterization techniques that probe performance and steer improvements to our novel solid-state battery components.
Required Experience & Skills
PhD in materials science, chemical engineering, or related field, with 5+ years industry experience
Hands-on experience in failure analysis of materials and devices
Proficiency in materials characterization and experimentation
Knowledge of statistical approaches for analyzing large datasets
Ability to communicate clearly and candidly; strong affinity for teamwork
Comfortable working in a glovebox, dry room, or fume hood

Highly Desired
Demonstrated experience leading failure analysis activities in a relevant industry
Proven expertise in characterizing physical and electrochemical properties of battery materials
Familiarity with battery test methods
Fluency in scripting languages for data analysis
