QuantumScape is a start-up located in San Jose, California working on new energy storage technology to allow electric vehicles to outperform internal combustion cars. Do you want to learn about and work on this critical part of the future energy economy? As part of our Cell Development team, you will work alongside scientists and engineers to refine and scale the production of next-generation batteries for electric vehicles.
QuantumScape is seeking an experienced and motivated process development engineer to join our R&D team. In this role you will drive the development and optimization of new fabrication methods for our novel solid-state battery devices.
Required Experience & Skills
PhD in materials science, chemical engineering, or related field, with 5+ years industry experience
Hands-on experience leading process development of materials or devices in a relevant industry
Ability to communicate clearly and candidly; strong affinity for teamwork
Comfortable working in a glovebox, dry room, or fume hood

You thrive in a fast-paced environment, and adapt quickly to change

Expertise in lamination or adhesion applications for layered devices
Familiarity with battery materials and test methods
Knowledge of statistical techniques and scripting languages for data analysis
Experience in designing and improving prototype process equipment
