QuantumScape is an energy storage technology company, located in San Jose, California, and we are working on a fundamental disruption in the field of energy storage. We seek to change the paradigm in energy storage by developing a completely new class of electrical energy storage device. We are backed by top VC firms and our ground-breaking technology is based on work done by researchers at Stanford University.
We are looking for a Cathode Process Engineer to join our team to help drive electrode preparation activities to efficient sustain, improve methods and support development of new processing techniques to increase product performance and reliability.
In this role you will:
Develop groundbreaking processes to enable the next generation battery systems.
Establishment and selection of equipment concepts leading to mass production.
Setup and operation of newly introduced equipment.
Improvement of the adaptability of new processes and their baselining.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
You possess a M.S. or PhD in engineering, materials science, chemical engineering, mechanical or related engineering fields.
You have proven track record in a manufacturing or development engineering role for 5+ years where you played a crucial role in defining design and process requirements.
You have worked on a project where you had to lead the work of others for 2 years.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Self-motivated, having a track record of learning new skills and techniques and applying those to achieve result.
Deep understanding on LIB structure and process.
Thrive in a fast paced, technically exciting environment and quickly adapt to changes.
Strong communicator and enjoy collaborating with colleagues to solve technical challenges.
Strong data analytical skills
Familiar with statistical process control methods
Aggressive and results driven approach to problem-solving
Strong interpersonal skills
Python coding
Highly Desired:
Experience working within an operation and/or manufacturing teams
Practical knowledge of six sigma methodologies is a plus.
Experience working on Lithium ion battery development.
Experience working in multi-functional teams delivering breakthrough process improvements.
Experience of leading junior level engineers or technicians
Physical Requirements:
May work with airtight isolation chambers and/or wear neoprene or vinyl gloves for 15-30% of the time.
May frequently reach above shoulder heights and below the waist.
May be required to use hand or power tools.
Ability to stoop, kneel, crawl, lift, push and extend arms.
