** QuantumScape** _ _ is seeking a _ Senior Powder and Slurry Engineer - Senior Member Technical Staff (SMTS)_ to join the Separator Engineering - Process Development team wh ose primary focus to drive continuous improvement efforts of existing methods and support the development of new materials processing techniques that will increase product performance and reliability.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and continuously improve existing powder and slurry production processes
  • Define performance requirements and technical specifications to develop new processing methods for optimizing performance aligned with our technology roadmap
  • Test hypotheses by applying your knowledge of engineering statistics and design of experiment concepts to methodically plan and execute process experiments and yield conclusive results
  • Analyze and optimally communicate your results to management
  • Develop and maintain drawings, operating procedures, and work instructions
  • Work in accordance with all safety procedures

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree in Ceramic, Chemical, Materials or Process Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in process development; 3 years with Masters degree; 0 years with PhD
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in powder synthesis and slurry production
  • Proven ability in a manufacturing or development engineering role where you played a crucial role in defining design and process requirements

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proven experience working within operations and/or manufacturing teams
  • Practical knowledge of six sigma methodologies
  • Knowledge of media milling and mixing equipment
  • Familiarity with developing and tooling to deliver results on time and within budget
  • Exposure to working in multi-functional teams delivering breakthrough process improvements
  • Ability to lead junior engineers and technicians on multiple shifts

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • May work with airtight isolation chambers for 15-30% of the time
  • May frequently reach above shoulder heights and below the waist
  • May be required to use hand or power tools
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crawl, lift, push and extend arms
