** QuantumScape** _ _ is seeking a Senior Process Engineer - Senior Member Technical Staff (SMTS) to join the _Separator Engineering - Process Development _team whose primary focus is on lithium ion battery materials process development and characterization. The successful candidate is encouraged to provide the highest quality research, while delivering clear and unambiguous results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. As part of the process engineering team, you will help with scaling-up processes to enable high-volume manufacturing.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MS degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years experience in process development; 0 years with a PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or related field
• Demonstrated hands-on experience developing, characterizing, and trouble-shooting a process using process-related equipment
• Experience with at least one scripting language (e.g. Python, R, Matlab, JMP, etc.)
• Exposure to Design of Experiments (DOE) style experimentation and statistical analysis of data
• Familiarity with modifying and adding new gas-lines in equipment, working knowledge of valves and thermocouples, and/or exposure to working with gas analyzer equipment

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or related field
• Knowledge of Li-ion battery science
• Familiarity with materials characterization tools such as XRD, IGA, SEM, XPS
