About the Role

Rocket Lawyer is looking for a talented attorney with relevant in-house and law firm experience in transactional and corporate and regulatory law. The attorney will primarily be responsible for handling our international legal matters, including transactional, corporate, employment, privacy and regulatory matters in various jurisdictions including the UK, EU, Brazil, Canada and Mexico. The attorney will also help with litigation matters in the U.S. The attorney will work closely with the General Counsel, business and legal team members, and outside counsel and consultants. Remote work is permitted and may be required, depending on the attorney’s location relative to Rocket Lawyer offices in San Francisco (CA), Ogden (UT) and London (UK).

Qualifications

  • Strong academic credentials including a J.D. (or equivalent UK degree) from a top law school and membership in the California, Arizona, Utah, North Carolina or Colorado state bar (or equivalent UK bar) is required. Delaware bar membership is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of experience with a top law firm and 3+ years of experience in-house with significant experience handling a variety of legal matters for foreign subsidiaries and affiliates as well as litigation matters for U.S. clients.
  • Strong project management, communication and analytical skills are a must, as are strong communications skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to work independently but remain connected in a remote work environment is critical if the attorney works remotely from other team members.
  • You must be enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and getting things done, be able to juggle multiple projects and remain organized, be accountable for handling projects through to completion, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
