About the Role

Rocket Lawyer is seeking a talented writer and editor to join a dynamic and creative team of content marketing professionals who are passionate about helping businesses, families, and individuals make legal documents, get attorney advice, and confidently protect their futures. You are a determined and relentless editor with a keen eye for detail and solid writing chops. You can write and edit across multiple formats and channels, ensuring that everything that is published under the Rocket Lawyer banner is clean, concise, polished, engaging, and easy to read. While editing and writing is your jam, the path that you walk never strays far from business goals and KPIs. Every piece of content has an audience and a purpose, and every customer and reader deserves content that is relevant, helpful, and respectful.

A Day In the Life

• Review, edit, and author a variety of content across multiple channels
• Ensure all content is on-brand, on point, relevant to specific audiences, and drives growth and engagement through SEO and content marketing best practices
• Optimize articles and landing page content for search and social engagement
• Conduct research and work with colleagues and partners to ideate article titles that are timely, useful, SEO-friendly, and relevant to people in need of legal help or advice
• Collaborate with product, marketing, and PR teams to create and edit content in support of single or ongoing campaigns
• Collaborate with team members on webinars, customer profiles, case studies, and thought leadership content
• Communicate with external writers and editors and own the ultimate quality of what they produce
• Use the Editorial Calendar as your North star and daily companion

About you

• Passion for our mission
• Proven ability to write and edit engaging, helpful content
• Critical reader and editor, with an eagle eye for inconsistencies, redundancies, and crooked lines of logic
• Excellent attention to detail, both for line-editing copy and consistency in style and tone across content
• Background or education in journalism is helpful
• Education or prior experience working in a legal setting is helpful
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Basic understanding of SEO and experience leveraging keyword research
• Demonstrated understanding of Rocket Lawyer’s customer base and familiarity with our product
• Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
