As a Product Manager you will have the opportunity to define and maintain enablers, user stories, and defects with your project and/or Scrum teams. You will lead the prioritization of the team backlog to streamline the execution of product priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the features - as well as act as a customer proxy and work closely with product management, design, scientific partners and customer insights and research team.

Additionally, you’ll be working in a complex big data ecosystem developed to drive breakthroughs in precision medicine meaning we support a wide array of public and commercial client data analysis and insights across Google Cloud, Amazon AWS, and Microsoft Azure.

What you'll be doing:

  • Build, edit and maintain the team backlog with input from the team, architecture, systems design manager, product managers, customer insights and research partner, executive leadership and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Prioritize user stories in the team backlog through the analysis of information related to profit drivers, strategic customers, business risks, user experience pain points, cross-team dependencies, and business concerns.
  • Define and clarify the user stories in the product backlog in coordination and cooperation with other scrum team members and the Product Manager(s) working on the program ensuring there is: a quality and security in the user stories; an understanding and empathy for the user experience through participation in and consumption of customer insights and research; ensure that the user stories solve real customer problems.
  • Collaborate with your team to articulate acceptance criteria which can be verified with user acceptance tests.
  • Maximize the value produced by the team by ensuring the user stories meet the user’s needs as defined through acceptance criteria, and that they comply with the Definition of Done.
  • Cultivate a healthy backlog to support backlog refinement and prioritization as part of quarterly planning activities.
  • Lead story definition with your team and provide necessary clarification to assist the team with story estimates and sequencing.
  • Participate in team retrospectives to ensure that the team is consistently improving.
  • Work closely with your team to determine the primary objectives for each quarterly planning cycle and communicate these objectives and the value they will bring to the company.
  • Collaborate with your team to prepare demos that demonstrate the delivered value to the organization.
  • Work closely with your Product Director to create and iterate on the Definition of Done for the organization.
  • Attend and participate in product management and executive conversations about the product roadmap and vision to better understand the scope of upcoming enabler work.
  • Contribute to the evolution and refinement of the vision, roadmap and return on investment.

Do you have what it takes?

  • 2+ years of experience working in software development, technical product management, and/or data management.
  • Experience in computer science; knowledgeable of the design and development of complex systems, cloud infrastructure and services, microservices.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing valuable products within an agile environment supporting at least 1 scrum team.
  • Fluency in English language.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, meticulous and systematic approach.
  • Self-driven with good organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience working with the international teams.
