The Public Programs Team at Seven Bridges brings together diverse team members who possess a unique balance of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate the ability to think strategically about research and business questions, understand the scientific problems that researchers need to solve, and develop strategies for maximizing the success of a solution.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will learn how to work in the global standard community (i.e. CWL, GA4GH, FHIR, etc). You will collaboratively develop technical strategies for empowering the use of standards by SB platform users. You will also contribute back to the standards, bringing Seven Bridges users’ use-cases to the global forum, and advancing the standards to meet these.

  • Develop, manage and maintain public program technical roadmap, for features that programs and strategic initiatives implement, including milestones and deliverables.
  • Learn how to Identify and communicate technical priorities for public programs to Program Teams, Product Development Managers, and Engineering teams.
  • You will work with teams to identify technical solutions that meet program requirements and can be built within the development time frame and within budget.
  • You will represent the Program’s interest to resolve technical issues that might result in missing technical delivery milestones.
  • Collaborate with program managers to guide data, workflow, networking, and analysis standards discussions on external standards.
  • Collaborate with program managers to develop feature proposals that advance the development and usability of our platforms.
  • Opportunity to travel for conferences and client meetings. Currently there will be no travel due to COVID, all teams will be kept up to date as we get back to regular travel in the future.

Do you have what it takes?

  • PhD OR MS in science or engineering and/or experience in a software development environment.
  • Knowledge in genomics or biomedical data analysis.
  • Ability to drive standards development via technical discussion which will result in Pull Requests and/or design of technical documents in open repository.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, jointly making decisions to ensure alignment across projects managed by other individuals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Responsive and self-starting, can thrive in ambiguous and collaborative environments.
