Resultant was founded as KSM Consulting in 2008.
**This role requires travel to the Lansing, MI office 2 days per week. **
The Portfolio/Project Assurance Partner acts in a senior, independent quality review capacity to assess, facilitate and verify quality standards are achieved within multiple projects in a portfolio in accordance with Client internal guidelines and best practices. The Portfolio/Project Assurance Partner works with individual Project Managers in creating a consistent and accurate status for the portfolio of projects and to promote the timely identification and handling of risks, issues, corrective action plans and change requests. The Portfolio/Project Assurance Partner provides guidance and counseling to Project Managers and collaborates with the Project Managers to ensure project success.
The Portfolio/Project Assurance Partner will conduct Project Assurance Reviews throughout a project's System Development Life Cycle to evaluate if processes and deliverables fulfill the requirements for quality, to uncover errors or deficiencies in processes and deliverables, and to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement. The portfolio contains a diverse set of projects including both applications and infrastructure. Projects range from small tactical projects (2-4 staff) to large-scale modernization programs (100+ staff).
The Portfolio/Project Assurance Partner will also routinely collaborate with Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) to:
Refine Project Management Methodologies
Refine Process and Product Quality Assurance (PPQA) Methodologies
Conduct special projects withing the scope of IT Investment Management
Some of the qualifications and skills we are expecting include the following:
Extensive Information Technology project management experience (10+ years).
Strong understanding of varied software development methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project)
Strong analytical skills and experience with conducting and/or managing IT Project Quality Assurance programs.
Conducting and documenting Project Assurance reviews for individual projects.
Conducting portfolio risk analysis to determine risks across all projects in the portfolio.
Experience in design, monitoring, and analysis of performance metrics for Portfolio quality improvement initiatives.
Excellent problem solving and interpersonal communication skills necessary. Project Assurance Partner works with Project Managers, stakeholders, Portfolio Manager, and other Client Executives to ensure project governance process operates effectively and to ensure overall project success (i.e., expected benefits are achieved).
Strong leadership and team building skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner.
Provides guidance and subject matter expertise to project teams on Project Assurance methodologies and processes.
Develop, enhance, and update Project Assurance methodologies and training programs, and conduct Project Assurance training for Project Managers and Assurance Partners.
Strong written communication skills.
Experience with Project Portfolio Management software is desirable (e.g., Clarity)
BS/BA degree in Information Technology related field.
PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
